Markets are trying to price two things at once in June: the incoming data and Kevin Warsh’s first meeting in the chair. (Which come with its own expectations) Futures and prediction markets lean toward no change in the upper bound of the fed funds target range. So we'l see. Obviously,it's not a guarantee. Warsh was chosen after years of arguing for easier policy and a smaller balance sheet, yet he takes over with inflation still uncomfortably high and strong pressure not to look soft on prices — a mix that makes it reckless to treat any outcome as “known” in advance.
